Our parish stands at an exciting moment where God's work exceeds our space. Both our church and school are growing rapidly, creating urgent building needs. It is now our time to step out in faith and extend our legacy for future generations.

Through our capital campaign, Building Together in Faith, we plan to renovate the church and expand the school building. This effort is not just about physical structures, but about providing tools to foster community, welcome seekers, and help people discover God's love.

Why We Are Building

For generations, St. Joseph Parish has served as a beacon of faith, education, and community in Hanover. Today, we are witnessing a remarkable season of growth. From our vibrant multicultural ministries to our flourishing school, our parish remains a center where parishioners and students alike discover the love of God.

Addressing Critical Space Constraints

  • School Enrollment at an All-Time High: To accommodate this growth, existing spaces—including storage rooms and closets—have been converted into offices, an art classroom, and instructional support areas.
  • Active Parish Ministries: Over 30 parish ministries vie for space on a daily and weekly basis for evangelization, faith formation, worship, and community outreach.
  • Essential Church Repairs: Critical infrastructure components—including HVAC systems, lighting, flooring, and handicap accessibility—require vital upgrades to remain functional for future generations.

 

Key Project Components

The Building Together in Faith campaign addresses critical space constraints and essential renovations through two major components:

School Expansion & Parish Space

  • Second-Floor Parish Center: Construction of a dedicated second floor above the school wing exclusively for church ministries and programs. This flexible space can be utilized as one large hall or divided into six sections for smaller ministry meetings.
  • Enhanced Accessibility: The parish level will feature its own separate entrance, an elevator, and dedicated handicap accessible restrooms.
  • Eight New Classrooms: Adding eight classrooms to support growing enrollment and provide dedicated space for faculty and support services.
  • Modern Restroom Facilities: Adding a new bank of bathrooms specifically serving the school wing.

Church & Campus Renovations

  • Building Upgrades: Renovations the church and narthex HVAC systems, installation of a sound system capable of supporting musical instruments, installation of high-traffic resistant flooring in the main church and sanctuary, repair of kneelers and pews, and installation of automatic light timers.
  • Restroom & Storage Upgrades: Renovation of current restrooms along the back wall of the library to ensure full handicap accessibility, along with additional storage areas.
  • Campus & Parking Improvements: Full renewal of the parking lot, updated parking lot lighting, renovated curbs and grates, and improved stormwater management.
