St. Joseph Mental Health Ministry

"Let us pray that people who suffer from depression or burn-out will find support and a light that opens them up to life."

Pope Francis's prayer intention for November 2021: People who suffer from depression

The mission of St. Joseph Mental Health Ministry (SJMHM) is to create a welcoming and supportive environment by working to erase the stigma surrounding mental health and similar conditions for individuals living with these challenges, as well as their families and others affected by the disruptions these conditions cause. SJMHM believes that all individuals deserve compassion, inclusion, love, and respect. We aim to achieve these goals by providing our faith community with resources through educational materials and events, and by offering spiritual companionship, support, and prayer. While diagnosis and treatment are not within SJMHM's scope, we plan to collaborate with professionals for referrals as needed and co-sponsor events with sister parishes, and local and national organizations.
